All library users should follow current Butler University and library protocols. Visit https://www.butler.edu/library/about/events to stay on top of the latest library information, or inquire at the Information Commons desk.

Visitors to Irwin Library may ask at the Information Commons Desk in Irwin Library to be logged in as guests during staffed hours. Please note that during busy times, members of the Butler community will receive preferential access to all library workstations. Visitors who aren't Butler alumni or students of a PALNI or ALI school should use computers in the first floor tech quad and may be limited to one hour of computer use. Public users and alumni do not have printing privileges, but may scan and e-mail content to their e-mail account or save the content to a USB flash drive, staying mindful of copyright laws.  Abuse of computer privileges or disturbing other library patrons will result in denial of future services.

Butler's guest wifi is available for visitors to access using their own devices.

To use the copier/scanner, general public and alumni visitors should go to the Irwin Library Information Commons Desk in Irwin Library or the Science Library (Holcomb Building 200) Service Desk for login assistance.  Scanning to e-mail is free, and photocopies can be made for $.25 per page, $1 minimum, paid electronically (cash isn't accepted).  Photocopies requested in the Irwin Library Special Collections area will also cost $.25 per page.

Children under 18 won't be logged onto a computer unless accompanied by an adult.

All library patrons are expected to adhere to library policies and Code of Conduct.

The doors to Irwin Library lock at 10 PM. To gain access to the building after this time, an active Butler ID is required.
