There are two groups of student employees at Butler University Libraries: those in Information Commons and those in our Resource & Systems Strategies (RSS) department.

The student employees in the Information Commons program are cross-trained in research, circulation, and technology skills. These are the students working the service desk at Irwin Library and the Science Library. Since it is a public-facing job, we ask our students to dress professionally and be completely engaged when working. You can learn more about this program, its history, learning goals, and how to apply at our website.

The RSS department student group handles behind-the-scenes tasks such as shelving, processing, and library collection projects such as shifting.

Openings for all positions, whenever available, are posted through the Career and Professional Success (CaPS) posting service, Handshake. The ICS office is able to assist you with questions about this program, or with other services such as resume review.

Faculty and staff openings at Butler Libraries are posted to Butler Universities Human Resources.
