Irwin Library’s study rooms are a great space for speech practice. Collaborative workstations are a great place to rehearse PowerPoint and group presentations, as long as remaining courteous to and mindful of others nearby who are also trying to work.

Study rooms and workstations can be reserved online or at the Information Commons Desk.  To reserve a room or workstation online, please use the following link:  https://butler.libcal.com/reserve You must register as a new user the first time you use the system. Please use your Butler email address and create a password.

Recording your speeches while you practice is also highly beneficial. To rent a video camera or iPad and tripod to aid you in this endeavor, visit the Information Commons desk in Irwin Library and ask to check out what you need.

The Speakers Lab is also a great resource for practicing your speech. Located in Fairbanks, it features trained student tutors to assist students in the creation and delivery of both individual and group speeches and presentations.
