The Center for Academic Technology (CAT) is in charge of and sets policies for the Sound Booth, which is located in the basement of Irwin Library and operates on a reservation basis. For liability reasons, the Sound Booth is only available to Butler University faculty, staff, and approved students.  Children under the age of 18 are politely requested to to remain out of the Sound Booth.

For students to be approved, they must be enrolled in a course in which the Sound Booth is required for a project.  As per CAT procedures, the key must be checked out under the faculty member's name.

To gain use of the Sound Booth, you must first meet with an academic technology specialist (contact them via butler.edu/cat) for an overview of how to properly care for, clean, and use the equipment. This overview typically lasts for 30-40 minutes.
