 If you were asked to create the Butler blog in the context of your job duties, then it's probably a work-for-hire.  Even so, it is still possible to negotiate shared rights.  If, however, you requested a BU blog on your own, then the intellectual content is most likely your own.  To avoid these concerns some faculty will create a professional blog on a hosted service like Wordpress.com or Blogger.com.

Lastly, you may want to discuss this with the Institute of Research & Scholarship.  They specialize in intellectual property and can provide advice that goes beyond this answer.
