Q. I link library resources in Canvas or my syllabus, do I need to update those?

Yes, if you link to our old library system, Butler WorldCat Discovery [butler.on.worldcat.org], you should instead link directly to online resources on their external platforms, or to the resource's record in Butler Library Search.

If you link directly to online resources, you may not have to update your links. Here are some examples for one title, "Your Money or Your Life" by Luke Messac as an ebook. 

• https://butler.on.worldcat.org/oclc/1391121186  This links to our old library system and will need to be updated.
• https://academic.oup.com/book/49415?login=true This Oxford Academic link is not affected by the library system migration and will not need to be updated.
• https://doi.org/10.1093/oso/9780197676639.001.0001 This is a DOI resolver that will take you to the Oxford Academic link and will not need to be updated.

Tips for updating your links from WorldCat Discovery to Butler Library Search:

• When searching for an item in Butler Library Search, copy its full title over from WorldCat Discovery to make sure the same item is found
• Check the "Access Options" menu to confirm that a full text link is available and goes to the intended item
• Follow library guidance for getting shareable persistent links to Butler Library Search (there are multiple linking options)
• If you're not able to find an item in Butler Library Search that was available in WorldCat Discovery, please contact your Subject Librarian
