There are multiple options for persistent linking to records in Butler Library Search:
- Option 1: From either the items' record in the search results list or the item's detailed record page (i.e. the page you see after clicking on a search result), click on the "Share" option in the top right corner. You must be logged in with your Butler credentials in order to see the link share button. Links generated with this button prompt users to authenticate immediately, before they can view the linked record.
- Option 2: From the item's detailed record page or Publication Finder result, copy the entire url in the address bar. This link is persistent and includes information about your search query at the time the url was copied.
- Option 3: From the item's detailed record page, copy the portion of the url in the address bar before the first question mark. This link is persistent but does not include any information about your search query. Please note that this method for shortening address bar urls does not work for Publication Finder records (i.e. records with urls beginning in [https://publications.ebsco.com/] or [https://research.ebsco.com/c/4brikv/search/publication-results]).
