Irwin Library provides a Rich Media area on the first floor in the computer quad of Irwin Library with equipment for individuals using our audio-visual collections. The area includes a Blu-ray player; VHS to DVD converter; microfilm machine; and wacom tablet with an interactive pen. Headsets for in-library use can be checked out at the Information Commons Desk.

There is a turntable connected to a computer workstation in the basement of Irwin; please ask for assistance if necessary.

Individual students can view DVDs on the PCs in the first floor tech quad in Irwin Library.  Headphones are available for checkout at the Information Commons desk. Students seeking to view reserve DVDs in the library as a group can book Study Room 215 (using the libcal system at  https://butler.libcal.com/reserve, or by calling the Information Commons desk at 940-9227), and use the wireless to link a computer with a DVD drive to the TV in room 215. For the most up to date list of mediated spaces and equipment in classrooms. please visit IT's labs and classrooms descriptions, or contact IT directly.

Butler has a subscription to the database Digital Theatre+ (also known as DT+) n the Databases A-Z list which contains streaming video content of a variety of theatre productions as well as study guide materials and interviews with various theatre practitioners. Most if not all of the videos are closed captioned. Another helpful database in the A to Z list may be Films On Demand.
